Follower or Fan

 I've recently hopped on the Jeremy Lin (Point Guard for the NY Knicks) bandwagon. He's lit up the opposition in his 5 starts as a rookie who almost didn't make the team. He is becoming the Tim Tebow of the NBA, b/c He's giving the glory to Jesus! Well, I decided to "follow" him on Twitter 2night. I found his page and clicked a button.

I was watching Pastor Steven Furtick of Elevation Church is Charlotte preach online 2night, and he shared how we want to follow Jesus like we follow people on Twitter. We click a button and then pick and choose which of their messages we like and want to read or do anything with as it comes thru our daily feed.  But with Jesus, we should listen to and apply EVERYTHING He has to say! With Christ it's more than just liking Him and what He has to say! We MUST truly deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him. That's means He is in control of our lives and we keep His commandments at all costs not worrying what it might mean for us as individuals. It's ok to follow people and be their fans on Twitter, but let's TRULY Follow Jesus and become more than just fans.  ...BE A DISCIPLE!!! God bless!
