Supernatural Strength for the Last Days

Isa 59:19
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

In these last days, we can expect that the enemy will indeed "come in like a flood." He knows that his days are short. In fact, the Bible says that the last days will be like "the days of Noah were." What were those days like? The sons of God were entering into the daughters of man. Violence filled the earth. And the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually. You don't have to read much or see much without realizing that could describe our day and time.

Peter said that the Devil walks about "as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour." He's trying to devour people in these last days. You can be sure, he won't bother those who aren't bothering him. It seems that at Parkers Creek, Satan is counter-attacking after the Lord dealt him a tremendous blow at the Camp Meeting and the weeks that have followed. How is he doing it? He's using sickness, discouragement, assault, and accusation. Some of you are dealing with things. Just Saturday he was attacking as some of us went out on visitation striving to reconcile people to God. He's attacking some with financial difficulties and troubles at home. He's mean and he seeks to kill, steal and destroy. Satan knows that his time is short, and he wants to take as many of us down as he possibly can.

So, how do we overcome? The Lord has promised that he will lift up a standard against him. THE STANDARD WAS RAISED ON CALVARY!!! The shed blood of Christ has paid for our redemption, and it's with His stripes we're healed. Plead the blood over whatever situation you're dealing with. Stand in the gap in intercession and make supplication for your brothers and sisters who are dealing with stuff! We need each other more now than ever!

Satan knows that the church's finest hour is now! We are on the threshold of eternity. We are just around the corner from the marriage supper of the Lamb, when the Bride of Christ will be complete and presented without spot and blemish! What a glorious sight that will be. So hold fast to Jesus! We feel the birth pains each day. We see Israel standing at the center of controversy in the world. Jerusalem has indeed become a cup of trembling. There are wars and rumors of wars. The hooks are being set in the jaws of the Russian Bear and drawing her toward the Mountains of Israel. We see these things and can't help but feel our redemption is drawing nigh! Therefore, we must raise the standard of the blood of Christ. If you're not in the lifeboat of the Old Ship of Zion, which is sailing toward Heaven on top of the rising flood waters, get on board now. Trust Christ to give you supernatural strength to make it in these last days! And let's try and take more with us than we leave behind when He returns! God bless you!

You have truly hit on exactly what I feel also is our last days. I have to be honest it hasn't been until just the past few weeks that I really started thinking about the things that are going on really pointing to HIS second coming!!! What an exciting time to be living but also a scary time for our loved ones and friends who don't know the Lord as Savior. We (I) need to be busy about the Lord's business! PCBC as a whole is truly under attack and if we can't see that then we are blind. As you said we need each other during these times. Where is it that it says a 3 stranded rope is stronger than a 1 or 2 stranded rope? The more of us who intertwine with each other the harder it will be for Satan and his demons to bring us down(to break the rope). You referred to the Old Ship of Zion, there is a song with that title that Pam and I used to sing and yes if your not on this Ship please get onboard. Yes there are going to be rough waters up ahead but be sure and know the Captain (Jesus) is on board with you and the Old Ship of Zion ain't going down!!!! He will take you safely to the other side! I feel even more blessed now to be a part of PCBC and to know we are in this battle together and we are going to make it no doubt. Keep looking up for our redemption draweth nigh!!!! Let us join together as one big rope that Satan can not break and may we keep adding strands to the rope so it (we) will become stronger and stronger. May God Bless you all!!!

Amen brothers!
I see the birth pains too, but how exciting it is to know that as we exercise our faith and see Gods will accomplished it gets easier and easier to trust him to use his children to do it. When things happen that make sense we may neglect to give God the glory, but when we see things happen that we know couldn't happen any other way that that God did it , it's easier to give him the glory! Thats what we are called to do. Give thanks in all things? to a non-christian,thats crazy, but to a child of God a joint heir with Christ it makes perfect sense!
I had the chance today to wittness to a non practicing jew, he told me that his mother and father were upset with him, that he couldn't practice judaism because he had studied and knew that those in Israel (in Government)for the most part were european jews and beleived the Talmud. I told him that I read the Torah and that I know it to be Gods word to man. I asked him if he read the Torah(the books of the law) and he said he did and that he beleived it too. so I told him that I know Jesus is the Messiah, and that if he would ask God to show him whether or not I was telling him the truth that he would. I told him that Jesus is shown it Isaiah 53,and Jeremiah 33:3 was a promise that God would answer those that called on him,and show them "great and mighty things that thou knowest not"! How free the Holy Spirit was making things.
We have little time left to sow the seed of the gospel so lets get after it,our seed bag is never empty!

Amen my brothers! God is at work! We must join together in the unity of the Spirit and win as many to faith in Christ as possible in these last days. God is so good to give us opportunities to be about His business. AND IT IS HIS BUSINESS. Jesus put it best as a 12 year old boy, when he said, "Did you not know that I must be about my Father's business!?!" Let us be about our Father's business in these last days!

To answer Troy's question, I believe the verse you're searching for is this:

Ecc 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Troy I love that verse in Ecclesiates...It speaks of the streagth there can be when we are with someone else...then out of the middle of no where it goes in to "a three fold cord is not quickly broken"...that third cord is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We need to be gathered together in unity as the devil attack's us. As Heb 10:25 says that in the latter day's we should not forsake the assembling of our selves...we are living in those days and instead of closing our doors on Sunday nights...we need to start opening them up more often.
However there is a third part of that cord and that is, as I said before Jesus Christ. There so many churchs that are close together with one another, yet they are not close to God! So many church that are nothing more than a religious social club...doing good things for the community, yet never addressing the single greatest need of there community which is Salvation!
I do not know every thing that is happening at PCBC. However I know that the Lord is using PCBC in a mighty way, and any time where God is at work, satan will attack! There is a wonderful passage that I think would do many christians some good to sit down and study. In fact I preached on it a few months back and you can find it on my web site...it is called "Sanballat's statments from Satan"- and it deals with the attacks satan likes to use to keep us from rebuilding the walls. That text is found in the book of Neahmiah...The city was broken down, gates destroyed...a total waste land, yet God used Neamiah in a wonderful way. Neamiah ignored the attackes from Sanballat and focused on the work at hand. He did not look at what sections that were not finished, but rather focused on every brick being laid was a brick that was not there before...each brick was a great victory,...that produced a "Great Work"...well I wrote to much!...Guess I got a little worked up! Amen brothers keep of keepin on for the Lord!
