Somewhere in the Middle

Lately, I haven't been able to get away from the Casting Crowns' song, "Somewhere in the Middle." It's track #7 on "The Altar and the Door" CD by the way. I especially can't get away from the line, "With eyes wide open to the differences; the God we want and the God who is; will we trade our dreams for His? Or are we caught in the middle?"

Too often, we are caught in the middle. Somewhere beyond where we were, but not nearly where we need to be. Too often, we want only a god that we're comfortable with. But the reality is this. Until we surrender our dreams, plans and goals to His, we will never be fulfilled, content or live the abundant life. We'll always be miserable. But it takes faith to live the Christian life. It takes faith to trust that God's dreams, plans and goals for our life are better than our own. It's hard, but when we finally do surrender, we find that He was right all along and His ways were best!

Jer 29:11 states, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." God is thinking good thoughts towards us! He wants us to be prospered and in good health. He wants to bless us and not curse us! WE MUST TRUST HIM!!! Don't settle for the Devil's counterfeits, when God wants to bless you with the real thing! Don't be caught in the middle this week!

Remember, Romans 1:17 - "Therefore, as it is written, The just shall live by faith!" Don't settle for a "deep-water faith, in the shallow end!"

OUCH! CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE. I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS AND A CONVERSATION I HAD WITH A MAN LAST NIGHT KINDA GOES ALONG WITH THIS. YOU KNOW THERE WERE THREE PARTS THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE LIFE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR AND THAT WAS HIS BIRTH, HIS DEATH AND HIS RESURRECTION. WE HAVE THE SAME THREE THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN TO US ALSO BUT A LOT OF THE TIME WE STAY THERE ON THE CROSS(IN THE MIDDLE IF YOU WILL) DYING A VERY HARD AND AGONYING DEATH PER SAY FROM THINGS OF THIS OLE WORLD. WHEN THE LORD HAS ALREADY DONE THAT FOR US. WE NEED TO MOVE ON TO THE RESURRECTED LIFE THAT HE HAS FOR US. IF WE ARE SAVED THEN HE HAS RESURRECTED US FROM A LIFE OF SIN AND WE NEED TO LIVE THE ABUNDANT LIFE HE HAS FOR US AND WE NEED TO GET READY FOR THAT GLORIUS APPEARING OF OUR LORD.

YEAH I KNOW PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH. I AM TRYING MORE AND MORE TO DO THIS. TRYING TO STOP STAYING IN THE MIDDLE AND LETTING SATAN CONTROL MY DREAMS, PLANS, AND GOALS AND FOCUS ON SURRENDERING MY LIFE TOTALLY TO THE LORD SO I CAN HAVE HIS BEST AND NOT WHAT I THINK IS BEST. ENJOY THE JOURNEY THE LORD HAS PLANNED OUT FOR YOU AND DON'T GET STUCK IN THE MIDDLE.
