Get up off the Couch and Get in the Game!

Just about a month ago, N.Y. Knicks' sensation, Jeremy Lin, was sleeping on the couch in his brother's Manhattan apartment.  He'd been cut by 2 NBA teams already and was on the verge of being cut again. He left his brother's apartment that day not knowing if he'd have a place to sleep that night or not.  He went to the game and actually got to play and lead the Knicks to a come from behind win over the next.  He's now led them to wins in 9 out of their last 12 games; and averaged over 20 points per game.  The moral to this story is this:  Sometimes you have to just GET UP off the couch and get in the game!

We too in life must do the same thing! We must get up off the couches of self-pity, defeatism, fatalism, and despair and get in the game! We can't live in the past; because God has a great future for us to accomplish AWESOME things for His glory!

Remember what Paul said, "...this ONE THING I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Philippians 3:13b-14

Let us not live in the past and allow the devil to keep us tied to the couch in defeat! Let us rise up and be counted and make our lives count for God's glory! One of the most inspirational moments in sports is found in the following video! In 2003, Lance Armstrong was in the mountains of Southern France.  He has a wreck going up the mountain, but gets up and not only catches the leaders but passes them and wins the stage of the Tour de France.  Let us not let slip ups and wrecks along the way keep us out! Let's get up and keep going for God's glory!  Enjoy!
